Space Dictionary for Kids: The Everything Guide for Kids Who Love Space

Do you know what a black dwarf, a variable star or an inferior planet is? I didn't until I got a copy of this awesome book, SPACE DICTIONARY FOR KIDS!

"This book is chock full of information. Full-color photos...are used to illustrate the information on each page....The text is written in an interesting and easy-to-read manner."

The book is a dictionary about space that is divided into four sections: Cosmology, Stars and Galaxies, The Solar System and Astrobiology and Exoplanets. Each section provides definitions of terms related to that particular section. Cosmology is about the origin and evolution of the universe. You will learn the vocabulary of deep space astronomy in the Stars and Galaxies section. The section about the Solar System is all about our solar system, the Milky Way. Lastly, Astrobiology and Exoplanets refers to the search for alien life and the study of planets that orbit other stars.

There is also a section called "History of Space Exploration" as well as an "Astronomy Timeline." Along with definitions, fun facts, questions and activities relating to various topics are scattered throughout the text. The authors also included a comprehensive list of other books to read if you want to learn more about outer space.

This book is chock full of information. Full-color photos, as well as drawings and diagrams, are used to illustrate the information on each page.

I'm not a big fan of outer space, but I enjoyed reading this book. The text is written in an interesting and easy-to-read manner. The abundance of illustrations help break up the material, making all the information easier to digest. This book would make great reading for anyone with an interest in anything related to outer space. Teachers could use it in the classroom as additional source material for units on space.
