Please Do Not Feed the Weirdo (Goosebumps SlappyWorld, Book 4)

R.L Stine, author of the Goosebumps and Fear Street series, has a new novel titled SLAPPYWORLD: Please Do Not Feed the Weirdo. In Stine’s latest book, a brother and sister named Robby and Karla Keppler go to an amusement park called Carnival World. After going on a scary ride with his sister (which Robby does not like to do, but goes on to prove to his sister that he is not scared) they eventually walk around the park and find a boy in a cage that has a sign that says “Please Do not Feed the Weirdo.” This “weirdo” boy constantly pleads with Robby and Karla for something to eat and Karla eventually gives him a piece of her candy bar, regardless of the sign’s warning. Soon both Robby and Karla realize that they should have listened to the warning to not feed this boy in the cage.

"Fans of Stine’s novels will want to finish his new book in one sitting....As always, Stine’s ending will leave readers wanting more and with their jaws dropping."

Fans of Stine’s novels will want to finish his new book in one sitting. In addition to frightening readers, Stine’s novel also teaches about the importance of listening to warnings and not being too trusting of others, no matter how much they may be pleading or how innocent they may look. As always, Stine’s ending will leave readers wanting more and with their jaws dropping.

PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE WEIRDO also shows readers how important it is for someone to learn from their previous mistakes, because there is a part where Robby makes a mistake that he had just made previously that he did not learn from. One thing I thought could have been different was that when this character makes the same mistake twice, I wish there could have been a moment where Robby could have grown as a character and not have repeated a mistake that he had just made moments before. Additionally, I keep wondering where this narrator keeps coming from and how he continues to survive. I also thought that it could have been elaborated on about where this weirdo, (the boy in the cage) came from. Where was he found? How was he found? Are there others like him? All of these parts I thought could have been elaborated on, though nonetheless, this story was enjoyable to read and made me wanting more at the end.

Overall, Goosebumps fans will be very excited that a new book in the series is here. Each page will make readers want to keep reading and want more even when they reach the end. They will cheer for Robby as he tries to capture the caged boy and will hope that he succeeds.
