Lucky Dog: Twelve Tales of Rescued Dogs

LUCKY DOG: Twelve Tales of Rescued Dogs, is, as the title implies, a compilation of a dozen stories about dogs being rescued from the fictitious Pawley Animal Rescue.

Each story is written by a different children’s author, and each author has a background in writing stories about animals. Some of the authors include Randi Barrow, Elizabeth Cody Kimmel, C. Alexander London, Ellen Miles, Michael Northrop and Teddy Slater.

...you can purchase the book, enjoy some good stories and help fund a good cause all at the same time. What could be better than that?

The stories encompass a wide range of animal breeds. You will meet Beatrice, the ugly but courageous French bulldog; Pumpkin, the odd-colored Chihuahua; a hyper-active Pomeranian named Foxtrot and her unlikely best friend, an Old English sheepdog named Bear.

All the stories are intended to tug at your heart strings, and they succeed. You’ll laugh and maybe cry as you read about these wonderful pets and the people who claim them (or as is implied, the wonderful pets and the people “they” claim!).

A blurb on the back of the book says: “For each copy of this book sold, all royalty amounts are being donated to RedRover, an animal welfare nonprofit, whose mission is to bring animals out of crisis and strengthen the bond between people and animals through emergency sheltering, disaster relief services, financial assistance, and education.” So, you can purchase the book, enjoy some good stories and help fund a good cause all at the same time. What could be better than that?
