This week is Banned Books Week, a time when we celebrate our right and freedom to read and share ideas through books. The books we champion during Banned Books Week have all been removed or restricted from libraries and in schools, often very unfairly. Banned Books Week reminds us of the harms of censorship and allows us to highlight books from HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE all the way to DRAMA by Raina Telgemeier, one of 2017's most banned books. If you are a librarian or educator who would like to share information about Banned Books Week with your kid readers, here are materials.
