YOU GOT THIS! -- Enter to Win a Copy Today!

Hi Kidsreaders!

We don't do this often, but we wanted to send a special newsletter to make sure you know about a book we're really excited about --- YOU GOT THIS! Unleash Your Inner Awesomeness, Find Your Path, and Change Your World by Maya S. Penn, which is on sale NOW!

We know of soooo many kids and teens who want to be entrepreneurs that when we saw a book by --- and about --- a teen entrepreneur, we were intrigued.

Maya started her first company, Maya's Ideas, at the age of eight! We first heard about her when we saw her TED Talk --- which she delivered at the age of only 13 (she's now 16) --- and were totally swept away by her go-getter attitude and infectious energy.

Impressive, right? If you're starting to feel like an underachiever, you're not alone!

Maya wants to help other kids and teens make their dreams come true, which is why she wrote YOU GOT THIS!. In this book, Maya explains to kids how to identify what type of thinker they are and how they can use that knowledge to make amazing things happen. One of the best things about Maya is how down-to-earth she has remained throughout her success; after all, at the end of the day, she's still a normal teenager, and she understands the unique pressures that come with being young.

In fact, in the introduction to the book, she describes what was going on in her head the moments before she gave her now-famous TED Talk. There were lots of butterflies inside, though we did not see them on stage!

Although she's an extremely accomplished young lady, she's constantly thinking of ways to give back, whether it be through her eco-friendly clothing and accessory line or donating to global charities.

In celebration of the release of YOU GOT THIS!, we're hosting a special feature on Kidsreads where you can learn more about the book. There's also a contest on our sister site, Teenreads.com, where we're giving away 10 copies of the book --- one of which will come with this gorgeous Spring Garden Heart Pendant from Maya's shop. You have until Tuesday, May 10th at noon ET to enter, but don't wait...you don't want to forget and miss your chance to get your hands on this inspiring book! Click here to enter!

See below for more information on the book, plus a review and an excerpt that will help you figure out what kind of thinker you are --- flip-flopper, blank-drawer or under-thinker. We're wishing you all lots of luck in the contest, but don't worry, you got this!

More About YOU GOT THIS! Are YOU a Flip-Flopper, Blank-Drawer or Under-Thinker?

About YOU GOT THIS! Unleash Your Inner Awesomeness, Find Your Path, and Change Your World by Maya S. Penn (North Star Way):

Maya Penn isn't like other 16-year-olds. This teen has given a TED Talk (two, in fact), has been on "The View" with Whoopi Goldberg, has launched her own business, designed her own eco-friendly clothing, and been name-checked by bestselling authors like Gabrielle Bernstein, Steve Harvey and Eve Ensler. All while still in middle school!

But while Maya is extraordinary in so many ways, what she has accomplished isn't miraculous or unique. Instead, her success is a testament to her own creativity, passion and fearlessness ... traits that, Maya says, can be cultivated in all of us, too. YOU GOT THIS! offers a creative blueprint for young people (and others seeking their way in the world), showing them the tools Maya herself used to build an authentic, exciting and connected life for herself...and offering her readers ideas to help them do the same. Like THE ARTIST'S WAY for a teen audience, YOU GOT THIS! offers readers Maya's extraordinary life story, as well as creative prompts to get them thinking about ways to cultivate that same success in their own lives.

YOU GOT THIS! Excerpt:

FLIP-FLOPPERS, BLANK-DRAWERS, AND UNDER-THINKERS: WHICH ONE ARE YOU?

It’s totally fine if you don’t yet know what you want to do with your life, especially if you’re just now beginning to ponder the possibilities. So take a break from worrying about that question, and try answering this one instead: “How do I make decisions about my life?” I’ll bet that, like most people (me included), you fall into one of the following categories...

Read Our Review of YOU GOT THIS!

Curious, creative and smart are just some of the words that come to mind when I think of Maya S. Penn. In her book, YOU GOT THIS!: Unleash Your Awesomeness, Find Your Path, and Change Your World, she maps a blueprint to unlock your creativity and pave your way toward success. Maya encourages readers to focus on what we do for fun and what we are passionate about, then examine our childlike wonder. These activities, she explains, could be the beginning of a career. She also helps readers narrow down what type of creative personality they have, like the flip-flopper, the blank drawer or the under-thinker.

Throughout her book, Maya gives tips on how to make one's ideas become reality. One thing she recommends is creating a dream board, which is a visual reminder of your passions. Then she asks the reader to examine it carefully for themes. Now that the reader can see his or her interests, she recommends learning all that there is to about that subject using the internet, reading books and articles, or meeting people with similar interests.
