Cassie Beasley

Cassie Beasley has always lived in a house in the woods in rural Georgia. The house is full of books, family-type people who read books, and animals that eat books. So it’s not surprising that Cassie started writing them herself. On most days, she can be found on the family farm, where the trees in the pecan orchard provide three things critical to her writing process: snacks, shade and no Wi-Fi.
Her sister, Kate Beasley, also writes children’s books. Cassie thinks this is the most convenient and wonderful thing ever. Sisters can’t disown you when you wake them up with a plot emergency at two o’clock in the morning.
Cassie earned her Bachelor’s degree at Georgia Southern University, where she majored in Writing & Linguistics (but mostly the writing part) and graduated summa cum laude. She went on to pursue her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults at the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
